We need your letters!

What kind of letters are we looking for?  Not everyone finds themselves in a physical waiting room, but almost all of us have had occassion to wait on God.

It doesn't really matter where the letter was written, or even when.  Did you write on the cusp of emotion, or after the wait had expired?  Was it to God or your loved one?

Surprise us!

To tell you the truth, we don't know exactly what to expect.  We're praying for letters that will help others in their grief, thrill people to coming joy, or order priorities in a new way will be sent to us.  Maybe they are journal entries, or poems, or tributes.  Maybe you have a letter from a loved one about to take the journey into mystery.  Perhaps the subject is young person, a military hero, a spouse or an elder.

Here's what we do request:

1) The letter must be honest and real.  We aren't looking for fiction or even great works of prose.  We pray for the wellspring of your heart.

2) While your names do not need to be published, we need to know who you are so please include name, phone number, and address in your submission.

3) Don't worry about "form" or doing it "right."  We'll be talking with you if your letter is chosen and any details can be covered then.

4) Please tell us a little bit about the person you're honoring.  A short biography and postscript will be included in the book.  Again, we'll be interviewing you if your letter is selected.

5) We reserve the right to edit your letter for length, spelling, and to a degree, grammar.  We will not alter your voice, and you will have the right to approve the edits.  You are giving us the right to publish the letter and biographical information, and while the copyright of the book will be in Lewis Seifert's name, the letter is and always will be yours.  To that end, you'll need to sign a release if your letter is chosen.

6) There will be some payment for letters that are chosen; the true payment will be the honoring of your loved one in print.

We hope to have a tremendous response.  Not all submissions will be used, and if the submissions warrant it, we may develop another book or project.

One more thing: honesty and integrity is important to us: we absolutely will contact submitters if we intend to publish their letters, and we will do our best to contact everyone who submits.  However, if we get thousands of submissions, that may take us a long time.  We will make regular updates to this website to let you know where we are in the process.

CLICK HERE TO E-MAIL YOUR SUBMISSIONS: Remember, include contact information, a little bit about your loved one, and attach your letter as a Word document or PDF.  If you have one and can't attach it, let us know.

Thank you,

Lewis Seifert
